TITLE: Book of Constellations

AUTHOR: Master Galladian

PUBLISHED: During the Great Convocation of Astronomers 13 years Ab Terra Condita

The Arcadian year is divided into 11 months to honor each of the Olympian gods who travelled from Earth to found our world. Ares, the God of War, was not included among the months, because his worship is forbidden. Mother Hestia commanded he be given a constellation to acknowledge his divinity. The Gemini are two large stars on the northern horizon visible day and night. They serve as the marker stars for the constellations.

The constellation directly above the Gemini matches the Olympian for whom the month is named. Thus the entire calendar of Arcadia is based upon the celestial formations determined by the Great Convocation of Astronomers in 13 years Ab Terra Condita. Arcadia's year has 399 days. Each month has 36 days, except for Hestia whose month has 42 days to honor her place as Mother of the Olympians. The convention for naming days is as follows:

In the third day of the month of Hera...

On the last day of the month of Demeter...
